HISTORY
In the summer of 2002, a group of concerned citizens began to meet and decided that a new group would be welcome in the community.

September 17th, 2002 Initial Meeting of over 50 community members agree to create an association. Initial Steering Committee formed Steering committee begins to develop Mission Statement and agrees need to have a permanent Board.

October, 2002 Formal Meeting with 45 concerned citizens, plenary meeting and small groups. Group decision to create a new association called Moscow Civic Association-to be a political non profit group ( 501c4) with a Board of Directors. Board volunteers come forward.

November, 2002 Board is formed and agrees on the structure --board of directors and four subcommittees. Mission statement is completed and subcommittees are established. Board of Directors begins to meet every two weeks and to communicate over a board list serve. Monthly public meeting on a pertinent local issues is established. State/Federal non profit status is applied for (501c4). P.O. Box is set-up. By-laws are drafted and approved. Members list serve, e-mail and homepage is established.

December, 2002 First General Meeting is held Monthly Issue Meeting is held second Monday of each month at 1912 Center on a local hot issue.

Summer 2004, MCA is up to 110 Members

Spring 2006, MCA is up to 258 members.
