| Transfer of Latah Health Services to Gritman Medical Center |
| After careful consideration and meetings with Gritman's CEO and President, MCA has decided to strongly endorse the transfer of Latah Health Services Property to Gritman Medical Center. The reasons for this position are fairly straightforward.
The likelihood that the LHS property will continue to serve our community’s health service needs is far greater if the property is transferred to Gritman than it would be if sold to a private developer. As a non-profit organization operating in Moscow for more than 100 years, Gritman has consistently been an organization focused upon improving the health care services it offers to our community and has never sold any of the properties they have acquired. As Moscow grows, our hospital needs to have the ability to do so as well. This is an excellent opportunity to build on the future of Moscow as a community. After extensive renovations of the LHS facilities, Gritman intends to expand health and wellness services, including the therapy pool offerings so many elderly citizens in our community depend upon. Moreover, Gritman’s Adult Day Health program is in dire need of additional space and will be considered for inclusion along with outpatient dialysis, which is currently not available on the Palouse, in the LHS facility.
